Gene is a graduate of Park College in Missouri with a degree in Business Administration and Economics. After 22 years of active military duty with the Air Force as a fighter pilot, Gene retired as a Lieutenant Colonel and opened O’Baker & Lepird in 1988. In addition to providing accounting, tax and consulting services for over 350 small businesses and 500 individuals and families, Gene is certified as an Enrolled Agent by the IRS and holds Series 7 and Series 63 investment ratings in order to provide investment management, financial and estate planning for our clients.
Shelley is a co-founder of O’Baker & Lepird. Shelley has over 30 years of experience in the accounting industry. Her focus is on service provided to our small and medium sized businesses, with a focus on consulting, financial preparation and entity structure. Shelley’s high degree of integrity and confidentiality have ensured a trusted relationship with our clients.
Brett is a co-owner of O’Baker & Lepird. He joined the firm in 2011. He earned his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida in 2012 and his Masters of Science in Taxation in 2016. Brett has over 10 years of hospitality & management experience, which is invaluable to our numerous hospitality clientele. Brett’s organizational skills and youthful approach has brought a perspective necessary to compete in this new electronic age.
Christina joined our firm in June 2015 to provide administrative support. Christina’s previous experience working as an assistant in the health industry where she developed a trusted relationship with her patients. She has been an invaluable addition to our team, as she acts as support for the accounting department. She is the first point of contact with all clients and is responsible for making sure that everything is running in a smooth and efficient manner and that the client’s needs are met.
Patty joined O’Baker & Lepird in 2002. She has over 30 years of experience in the accounting profession in Illinois and Florida. In her position as a staff accountant, Patty’s expertise encompasses client payrolls, preparation of federal & state sales & payroll tax returns, compilation of financial statements and bank reconciliations. Patty maintains a long term relationship with many of our clients.
Pedro joined O’Baker & Lepird in 2013 as a tax preparer. He earned his CPA in May 2014 specializing in taxation. Pedro’s prior experience as a business owner and attorney brings a level of expertise that ensures efficiency and compliance with accounting regulations. He has strong analytical skills which is a benefit to our clients, as tax planning should be provided throughout the year, not just at tax time. Pedro is constantly updating his knowledge in the accounting industry, which translates into his ability to provide the most current solution and efficient financial reporting.
